About us

MOV(i)E IT! is an initiative founded by seven students and their Lecturer in the field of International Law. These students are Master candidates of the IMRE Program.

IMRE stands for International Management of Resources and Environment. It is a 2- year MBA that belongs to the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg. The IMRE program is an English course and TU Freiberg is currently hosting the 10th generation of IMRE students (IMRE 2008).

Out of the diversity and the enthusiasm of the IMRE 2005 group and the long lasting discussions within the International Law course, the idea of exchange through discussion based on a film or a documentary was born during the summer semester 2006 and put into practice immediately. The Cinema Committee exists only since the winter semester WS 2006-2007, when things got more and more structured. So far, all sessions that have taken place have proven the idea to be a success.

With the spirit of continuous improvement, the Cinema Committee decided that it was the right time to move forward and hold its sessions in a larger place. The “Pi Haus” offers a large -yet cozy – hall in which the last sessions have take place, providing the audience the opportunity to enjoy the movies and documentaries in a more comfortable manner.

Outside the hall, we can find a bar in which beverages can be purchased for a reasonable price. It is also a place in which participants can discuss among each other and exchange ideas prior the beginning of the discussion session.

Pi Haus is the yellow villa located in Beethovenstraße 5 next to the park.

Did you ever consider serving food at those sessions? Why do I bring this up, well, as you surely know Pi-Haus, said in English, sounds exactly the same as Pie-house. Yammeee!

So long
